SOMETHING ABOUT ISHKA

One of the first songs I ever wrote. I recorded this when I was 14 years old shortly after I met a very yappy dog… I didn’t know much about what I was doing at the time, so bear with the rough recording and out-of-tune piano… and an inconsistent bass line. If anything, I hope this one makes you laugh.

There is something about that puppy in the backyard
It has big glossy brown eyes that just beg love
I pick it up and pet it and look at its name tag

There is something about her being in my bedroom
Ishka’s been locked in there for an hour
I open the door to say Hey whatcha doin’
Then she says I want my own bed and you sleep outside
