We are ready for mixing finally! Albums typically don't take this long to complete once the song is essentially written, but when you're only working on it every few nights every other week after work, it can take WHILES.
LOTS AND LOTS OF WHILES.
Have to rely on a long fancy list written with a Sharpie to ensure everything is getting done.
So after a day of slapping around SSIS for its cryptic and condescending error messages, I headed over to Electrokitty Studio in the evening. We focused on piano parts, hand claps, bass, and especially guitar. Jeremy Manley zee original cowboy of Seattle came to the rescue again for an awesome guitar part!
GARY: Dude, did you wear that on the bus?
JEREMY: Yes, sir!
Regarding guitar, it took a while to figure out exactly what we wanted for "Honeymoon on Neptune." Gary suggested to just noodle around on the guitar through the verses like "Octopus's Garden." In the end, it came together pretty awesomely!
